Event Matter, NY
This project begins with choreographed movement. The dancer’s motion is tracked and recorded as three dimensional geometry over time. Vectors from her extremities are mapped in space to create motion paths which delineate space. These spatial relationships are analyzed and mined, as a geometric vocabulary from which to begin designing. This vocabulary is employed in simulated geometric compositions. Creating 4D geometric compositions allows the designer to perpetuate the vocabulary and to find static relationships between frames of these compositions. Eventually these relationships produce an intricately woven built form.
